Overall score:    3.8/5.0

Overall:    Sweety nutty foretaste, and a dry, flinty/ashy finish.  Except for the ashiness a nice cigar.

Ambience:   J rightly decided that I was getting cranky and needed a short vacation to relax and recharge, so off to Friday Harbor for a couple of nights.  Leaving work and worry behind we took off Friday afternoon, dodged a rare thunderstorm, and after a short flight of less than an hour we arrived at Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, WA.  Smoked this cigar the next evening while overlooking the boats in the harbor.

Double banded and attractively wrapped in cedar.  Cello was slightly yellowed.

Construction:     Double cap.  Wrapper had an oily sheen and was rather toothy.  Small veins.  Mild aroma.  Firm, no hard or soft spots.

Prelight:   Cap and wrapper loosened when cut.  No factor.  Draw firm and flavor spicey.

First third:      First puffs were sweet and nutty.  Then, lots of cedar.  Very top palate - roof of mouth.  Pepper spice builds, and with it the sweet nuttiness withdraws.  Still some hints of nutty sweet in the foretaste, but the finish is now dry - after 1/2".  At 3/4" the ash was very crooked.  Occasionally ashy or flinty.  Ashed at 1".

Second third:     Nuttiness is lingering longer.  Ashed again at 1.5".

Third third:      More of the same.
